Ok, coffee isn’t so ‘nutritious’ as it is calming. Wait, calming? That shit gets you jacked!
However, researchers now say it does both; wake up and relax. Just not by consuming it.
They’ve found that the smell of coffee is a stress-buster: “These results indirectly explain why so many people use coffee for staying up all night, although the volatile compounds of coffee beans are not fully consistent with those of the coffee extracts. In other words, the stress caused by sleep loss via caffeine may be alleviated through smelling the coffee aroma.”
I drink at least one cup of coffee in the mornings, except on weekends when I get to sleep in. Then I don’t need to wake up or destress. Weekends solve everything.
