Yah so this is my ear. Why? It’s not a very sexy Half-Nekkid Thursday. But there’s a point.

Earlier this week I posted about surgery and stuff, not really putting down my thoughts on the matter or adding anything personal. So here is that.

Firstly, I’m a narcissistic, vain, self-absorbed pinhead. I mean hello, welcome to Duh 101 at the University of Obvious. I think I had a beauty routine by the time I was 8. Additionally, I’ve taken great care with regular visits to the dermatologist, laser therapy, facials, micro-dermabrasion, etc.

What I’ve come to learn is that most products are topical, meaning they’re only skin deep. Anything that promises to erase wrinkles is basically plumping the skin with humectants and smoothing the surface only. When the product dissipates, the wrinkles return. A simple routine to clean, treat and moisturize will keep your skin healthy. The less total products used the better.

I use Pevonia face wash for men, Kiehl’s tea tree oil toner, ultra facial cream & avocado eye cream, plus a Retin-A called Ziana at night. I have other products, but if I’m using those they replace something else, like my Hollywood Secrets eye serum, for example.

It is not a good idea to double up on products as they can cancel each other out, or combine toxically. If the products compliment each other, start with the lightest one first followed by the thicker one.

To diminish discoloration {dark or red spots} and wrinkles, IPL {intense pulse light} works wonderfully to even out skin tone and tighten. It’s not a super dramatic difference, and multiple treatments are required to get results. There are all kinds of different options, so it’s worth researching before making an appointment. You should be knowledgeable and have a list of questions ready. Don’t let anybody talk you into something you haven’t researched! Suggestions are fine, but nobody should ever be pressured to get a procedure the same day of the consultation. Any good doctor will let you think on it. Do so.

There’s nothing wrong with looking your best. And I believe in getting a little help along the way! I have no way to transition this, and most of you have probably tuned out by now anyways {too much reading!} so let’s just talk about my head hole.

As a kid, I had Spock ear. Also called a Devil’s peak {foreshadowing?} its basically just extended cartilage that shapes the ear into a point. You can see it still comes to a tiny point where the round part hits the back of the ear, but most likely it would go unnoticed. Before it was seriously like Spock. I had it surgically corrected when I was about 15 and had long hair to cover it up before that, so there are no “before” pictures — I made sure of that.

Happy Half-Nekkid Thursday!
