I’ve been sick and tired of myself all week.
Just gross and exhausted and totally burnt out. Today I decided it was out of fucking control. I’d previously made an appointment with a trainer because I received a free pass from my gym. I figured it was free so why the hell not.
But of course in my funk I didn’t even want to go.
Instead of blowing it off, retreating home to drink a glass of wine and down Cheetos, I managed to get my lazy, self-deprecating ass to the gym to keep the appointment.
I walked in with the intent to set specific goals and continue to check in with the trainer. Honestly, it didn’t really make sense to have them set a program for me otherwise.
You have to track progress. I just haven’t felt I’ve been getting the results I desire and I can’t seem to discipline myself. So, I handed over my next six weeks to Seven. That’s my new trainer’s name.
This is week zero. We met on the free pass and he walked me through a routine. It was totally different than anything I’ve done before, with the exception of one machine. We’ll meet once weekly starting Monday (I’ll do the workout a couple times in between then) and then he’ll change up the routine or assign a new one.
I’m very excited about this. I’ve been so lazy and down on myself lately I really need a kick in a ol’ arse.
